Teaching Assistant- Level 3 Ysgol Penmaes

One year contract commencing September 2024

We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team.

You will be expected to:
  • Support pupils, delivering work set by the class teacher;
  • Work effectively with the class teacher and other team of staff;
  • Understand and empathize with pupil's needs;
  • Be caring;
  • Carryout personal care routines if required;
  • Support pupils with personal and emotional needs using a nurturing approach;
  • Support pupils behaviour by implementing routines, boundaries and consistency. This will also include identifying pupil's interests and channeling these into learning, behaviour and social and emotional needs. This will include making and preparing resources;
  • Helping pupils to engage socially with pupils and other staff through effective modelling;
  • Encouraging pupils to complete tasks and work set using a variety of approaches based on individual needs;
  • Be trained to and administer medication that pupils require;
  • Work with outside agencies;
  • Communicate effectively with all parents/carers;
  • Be instrumental in recording pupil's progress through a digital learning journal in collaboration with the class teacher;
  • Undertake any professional learning deemed appropriate and necessary
