Role Title: Instructor Demonstrator / Assessor in Hospitality and Catering

Coleg Cambria invites applications for the unique position of Instructor Demonstrator / Assessor in Hospitality and Catering, based at our Yale site. This hybrid role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about both educating and assessing in the field of hospitality and catering, with a division of responsibilities that comprises 70% instruction and demonstration and 30% assessment.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for delivering high-quality practical sessions to students, supervising and guiding them through the practical components of their programmes. This entails preparing and scheduling practical activities derived from course coordinators and relevant lecturers, and providing continuous support and feedback to students to foster their professional and personal growth. Regular duties include maintaining records, assisting in student reviews, and ensuring all course outcomes are met with the highest standards.

On the assessment side, the role requires supporting students through various qualifications up to Level 4, including conducting Training Needs Analysis, initial assessments, and continuous monitoring of progress towards qualifications. The assessor will also be pivotal in developing assessment methodologies and preparing candidates for verification visits, ensuring compliance with both college and awarding body standards.

Essential Requirements
  • A professionally relevant qualification at minimum of Level 5 or equivalent
  • Possess or be willing to work towards an assessors qualification (TAQA)
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above.
  • Proven industry experience within a professionally relevant area

Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
