TO WORK ON AN INDIVIDUAL 1:1 BASIS SUPPORTING A PUPIL WITH ADDITIONAL LEARNING NEEDS

Grade G03 £10,256 - £10,426 per annum

20 hours per week

8.55am - 1:00pm Monday - Friday

Temporary, starting 01/09/2024 until 31/08/2025 (or until the pupil leaves the setting)

The governors of St Mary's CIW Overton-on-Dee School are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and hard-working Level 1 teachingassistant who is committed to supporting and promoting positive pupil well-being and learner experiences as well as working towards continuing their own professional development. As a Level 1 Teaching Assistant, you will be working within our friendly Early Learning department providing 1:1 support for a pupil with significant global delay, intimate care and feeding needs. The successful candidate will support the pupil in class and work individually on prepared education plans. You will also be expected to work closely with the class teacher, ALNCo and outside agencies as required, to support the pupil. Experience of working with children who have delayed Social Communication skills, knowledge of speech & language delays is highly desirable. The successful applicant will:
• Actively promote the school's ethos of inclusion and celebrate the diverse nature of our school
• Work within our inclusive Foundation Learning setting providing 1:1 support for a pupil with learning needs (training will be provided)
• Work closely with the class teachers, delivering targeted interventions to assist the pupil to make progress
• Support the pupil to work within the classroom environment and within a small group/ 1-1 basis focusing on the individual pupil's targets
• Work alongside the class teacher/s and teaching assistants to establish positive working relationships with parents and relevant outside agencies to support the pupil's needs
• Deliver intimate and personal care
• Be physically able to support/ lift pupil, if required
• Good ICT skills and be able to use IT equipment confidently
• Experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs is most desirable
