Job Title: Lecturer in CIPD (Human Resources)

Contract: Permanent, Part Time, 0.6 FTE, 22.2 Hours

Salary: £43,785 - £46,428 per annum pro rata

Location: Cardiff and Vale College

Cardiff and Vale College are looking for a Lecturer in CIPD based within the CAVC for Business team based in our City Centre Campus but with the expectation to cover other campuses as and when needed.

Job Purpose - CIPD Lecturer

The successful candidates for the post will be primarily responsible for subject planning, preparation and assessment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking of all academic work such as classroom teaching (which includes workshop etc.), tutorial work associated with outreach, residential and open and distance learning courses and student placements;
  • Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above, preparation and marking;
  • Undertaking appropriate student welfare and academic or non-academic counselling responsibilities;
  • An involvement in marketing, i.e. identification of consumer requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses and course materials, publicity and public relations;
  • To assist the Head of Department and Commercial Services team to engage with employers to produce new income for the college.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking of student progress and entitlement to learning support provision;
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably required of you commensurate with your grade; at your initial place of work or at other locations in the College catchment area;
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.

    CAVC for Business is a college department which includes a Business Development team and Learning and Development Solutions team. CAVC for Business is responsible for advancing the strategic positioning of the college with employers and industry partners, and for delivering high quality training. This includes the delivery of accredited qualifications (primarily Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), bespoke courses, coaching and mentoring, facilitation, and L&D consultancy.

    The successful candidate will have a teaching qualification or a willingness to work towards one and a relevant degree
