Role Title: Employer Engagement Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Employer Engagement Manager to join our Employment Engagement team based from our Deeside Campus.

This is an inspirational role and aims to lead the Directorate/College by exemplifying the Nolan Principles of selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership. It also adheres to the Code of Good Governance for Colleges in Wales, promoting respect, professionalism, prudence, commitment, and enthusiasm for good governance.

The Employer Engagement Manager will develop and implement a strategy to provide a sector leading and financially lucrative employer engagement / employability service. Managing appropriate Welsh Government programmes / initiatives including Personal Learning Accounts, International Trips, Job Shop, Work Experience and any other external funding projects for the college.

The successful candidate will be persuasive and influential, as they will work with employers to increase the work of the College in apprenticeships and all forms of employer related activities, including events, guest speakers, mentoring, work experience and internships for learners. Additionally they will provide leadership for employer engagement and employability departments, ensure effective and efficient budget control and develop an effective overview of College targets for income generation.

Communication and engagement skills are key, to effectively engage with Directors and the College Marketing function to develop, promote and deliver provision to meet the needs of employers and effectively market the College to employers.

Essential Requirements
  • A track record of Business Development in a fast moving environment and working at high level
  • Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification
  • Management Qualification or be prepared to work towards
  • Able to demonstrate previous experience of or the ability to lead, coach and inspire a team
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience and ability to manage budgets of varying sizes
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff to achieve the highest level of quality and performance.
  • Able to appropriately challenge staff and hold difficult conversations
  • Demonstrate a good level of IT competence. Must be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets as well as being willing and able to learn how to use new IT packages and systems
  • Ability to determine priorities and make decisions, supported by excellent organisational skills
  • Able to network effectively
  • A commitment to the college's culture which places people at the centre of everything we do.
  • A demonstrable commitment to equality and diversity
  • The promotion of high professional, moral and personal standards in all aspects of the organisation, subscribing to the Nolan Principle

Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
