We are looking for a passionate and proactive Engagement and Communications Co-Ordinator to help us achieve these goals.

As a Engagement and Communications Co-Ordinator, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing programs and initiatives that engage and support young people across Gwynedd Council. You will work closely with youth, local organisations, and other stakeholders to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where young voices are heard and valued.

Purpose of the post
• Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.

• Assist the training officer with the work of developing and implementing plans for communication, engagement and marketing of Council services.

• To assist, liaise and supervise internal and external communications for the Department together with the Corporate Communications Unit. ⁠

• Develop a full range of publicity and marketing materials to improve the Department's internal and external communications.

• Responsible for supporting the engagement and participation of young people across Gwynedd

Main duties
• Support the work of creating and implementing the Youth Service's communication plan and engagement plan.

• Support the work of promoting the Activities and Projects Programme, Gwynedd Youth Club and the Youth Services to a range of internal audiences (staff and councillors) and external audiences (the people of Gwynedd in general and specific groups as required).

• Research, write and distribute press releases and articles to be distributed to the local and national media.

• Ensure that information of a good quality is available to support engagement activities.

• Implement a variety of marketing techniques, public relations, and market research to reach potential service users, including those who are hard to reach.

• Responsibility for the Department's internal and public websites and ensure they are updated and maintained in accordance with written procedures.

• Start, develop, edit and distribute newsletters as required.

• Produce service publications, leaflets, and other promotional material, including presentations, seminars and displays. Assist, as required with dealing with general telephone inquiries.

• Assist the team to prepare and distribute publicity material as required.

• Responsible for establishing, scheduling and carrying out the Gwynedd Youth Forum to receive input and give feedback on the Council's strategic decisions throughout the year.

• Lead on engaging with schools / organisations and groups to ensure contribution and input from a wide representative of Cyngor Gwynedd children and young people.

• Develop opportunities for children and young people of Gwynedd to familiarise with the Local and National political system.

• Promote and coordinate the process of engaging with children and young people across Gwynedd by reporting to groups and committees within the Council.

• Facilitate young people to nurture their skills and confidence so that participation and contribution is maximised, and they can express their opinion.

• Be a promoter for engaging with young people and adopting an approach that focuses on the young person through Youth Work.

• Work with the Council's communication team to promote young people's opportunities and commitment to be able to share their stories

• Responsibility for self-development.
