DescriptionPurpose
  • To work closely with employers in the recruitment of apprentices
  • To ensure that all key stakeholders are fully engaged and receive the appropriate communications so that apprentices successfully complete their apprenticeship frameworks
  • To work in collaboration ensuring all apprenticeship programme KPIs are met
  • To work with an allocated case load of up to a minimum of 55 and a maximum of 60 apprentices.

This is an exciting role designed to support the on-going delivery of apprenticeship programmes across the business. You will provide support by ensuring that the quality of programmes meets the required standards both internally and externally to provide the very best experience and service to our learners.

You will be expected to engage with all stakeholders to ensure excellent relationships are both maintained and grown.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with employers with the recruitment of apprentices within current Welsh Government priority sectors.
  • Ensure all apprenticeship programme KPIs are met.
  • To work closely with the Line Manager on all aspects of provision.
  • Conduct comprehensive induction programmes with apprentices and employers.
  • To ensure Employers of Apprentices are informed of progress against all targets and attendance at classes at least every 61 days following the appropriate review guidance.
  • Support and mentor the learners throughout their programme enabling them to complete successfully and signpost them to the next stage of learning.
  • Support the employer, provide feedback on progress on a regular basis, ensuring the employers continual commitment to the learner and the programme.
  • Ensure effective liaison between managers, teachers, tutors and assessors to ensure each learner's progress is such that they complete their framework on time.
  • Ensure that all administration/digital processes associated with the role are completed to the highest standards and on time.
  • Complete all the necessary digital processes to ensure learners achieve and obtain their apprenticeship framework.
  • Maintain personal continuous professional development
  • Assist in the preparation of, and contribute to the evaluation processes of the annual Work Based learning self-assessment report.
  • Ensure the cross-cutting themes e.g. ESDGC, ESQs, Prevent and the Welsh language are incorporated into delivery and assessment processes.
  • Utilise and maintain appropriate tracking using Maytas Hub.
  • Ensure that the wellbeing and safeguarding of all learners are monitored closely and sign posted if appropriate
  • Act as a conduit between employers and the college ensuring that all business leads are referred to the BDI
  • Represent the college at events, networks and meetings, when required.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Principal/Chief Executive commensurate with the grade of the post at the initial place of work or other locations within the College.

Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseEssential Criteria:
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in subject and vocational area
  • Competence in the use of a range of IT Systems and packages, including Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, Bespoke packages and cloud-based applications
  • Good communicator with diplomacy and tact
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good presentational skills

  • Evidence of CPD that demonstrates engagement in activities to maintain up to date knowledge and skills of industry practices, products and equipment.
  • A current driving licence & own transport
Welsh Language Requirements:
  • Welsh Oracy (Listening/Speaking) - Level 0/1
  • Welsh Literacy (Writing/Reading) - Level 0/1
