Head teacher: Mrs Fiona Darby
Gors Community School caters for children in the Gors, Townhill and Cockett areas of the city. The school provides non-denominational education for children from the ages of 3-11years and is part of the second phase of the Flying Start programme for Swansea, with the Flying Start childcare facility opening in September 2013.
Gors Community is an inclusive school where every child's individual strengths and needs are valued and celebrated. We see our role as being very much at the heart of the local community and the Flying Start provision helping to cement this role as we engage with even more families and even younger children.
The Flying Start Programme at Gors Community School offers free childcare for 2 year olds within our area and is managed by the school governors via the Head teacher.
The provision of high quality childcare for children aged 2-3 years is the centrepiece of services to be delivered under the Flying Start initiative and will focus on improving their outcomes in preparation for school and also for life long learning.
In order to achieve these fundamental aims we are looking to appoint an additional support worker (am &/or pm sessions) of the highest calibre to become part of our dedicated team. The post will include supporting the Childcare Manager and Deputy Childcare Manager to ensure that the childcare offered is of the highest quality to enhance the all round development of all the children who attend.
If you have the required academic qualifications, experience, commitment and enthusiasm to help ensure a vibrant and dynamic setting then you could be the person we are looking for. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to further develop their career and to contribute to the overall development of the Flying Start Programme and life of our school and community.
For any further information please contact the Flying Start Manager Miss Victoria Hann on 01792 420421 or email Hannv5@hwbcymru.net
