Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd (CCDG) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Welsh Government. We provide an essential, all-age, independent, impartial and bilingual careers guidance and coaching services in Wales, including the new Working Wales programme.
Employability Coach, fixed term until 31/03/2025.
There are two vacancies, and the ability to speak Welsh is essential for one role and desirable but not essential, for the other.
Salary £24,469 - £26,490
The starting salary is £24,469
Full-time opportunities in Newport Careers Centre, 37 hours per week/full time Monday to Friday.
The successful applicants will be working with a varied client group including young people in their final year of education who want to move on to work or training, parents, adults who are unemployed and seeking support to enter the workplace, and people in work who are looking for a career change.
Our Employability Coaches
• support and inspire their clients to secure the best possible career available for them;
• provide information and advice to support clients to manage their careers;
• provide employability support (help with CVs, Job Searching activities etc) to those seeking to return to work or to change jobs;
• help clients achieve sustained positive outcomes (education, training, employment).
Applicants should be educated to Level 3 standard or equivalent, ideally in a related area e.g. advice and guidance or have experience of working at this level. If you do not already have the Level 4 Diploma in Career Information and Advice, we will provide you with the training and support you need to achieve this valuable qualification.
Welsh Language Skills: The ability to be able to converse with our customers in Welsh is essential for one of these positions (there is not a requirement for any skills in written Welsh) however we also encourage applications from Welsh learners as assistance to improve your Welsh Language skills would be provided.
The successful applicant will be required to have a Basic Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
