Lecturer in Multi-Skills - Construction

Cardiff and Vale College
An exciting vacancy is available as a Lecturer in Multi-Skills in the Construction department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based across campuses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identification of learning needs including the needs of those with learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Producing learning plans that address the issues of individual learning, learning through experience and group learning
  • Producing teaching and learning materials that engage learners and reinforce learning
  • Ensuring an interactive, safe and productive learning environment that fosters learners' security and confidence Identifying and addressing poor motivation and challenging inappropriate behaviour
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of induction procedures
  • Informing students of their entitlements and details of how to access services available to them
  • Identifying an appropriate range of assessment methods that will deliver fair, valid and reliable results
  • Ensuring equal opportunity in the design and application of assessment procedures
  • Participate in team and committee meetings
  • Assist with Curriculum development, which may include identification of consumer requirements, planning, and development of courses and course materials
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.

To be eligible to apply for this role you will need to have a level 3 vocational qualification in a Construction trade, preferably brickwork and plastering and have current trade assessor status or be able to provide evidence of appropriate occupational competence (relevant to awarding bodies requirements).
