The College manages, on behalf of the Welsh Government, the “Inspiring Skills Excellence in Wales” project in collaboration with the Skills Ambassador Network - a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations.
The Partner Engagement and Digital Communications Officer will be responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project outputs are delivered to a high standard, ensuring a collaborative approach to its development and delivery, in partnership with education and industry.
This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans, coordinating engagements and overseeing future developments, ensuring the overall success of the project.
The post will involve extensive travel across Wales, requiring flexibility in working hours and will lead to working with a range of stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project outputs are delivered to a high standard, ensuring a collaborative approach to its development and delivery, in partnership with education and industry.
The Partner Engagement & Digital Communication Officer will be expected to:
Development and delivery of the Developing Excellence Programme
- Support the delivery and monitoring of project outputs specific to Developing Excellence to ensure KPIs are met;
- Analyse data, regionally, nationally and internationally, with a focus on competition related data to support the Developing Excellence Programme
- Take a lead role in establishing an infrastructure in Wales that captures and shares best practice across the Developing Excellence programme
- Assist with the delivery budgets and reporting, specific to the Developing Excellence programme
- Support event planning across the Developing Excellence programme
- Coordinate resources to ensure the smooth functioning of the Developing Excellence programme
- Coordinate the organisation and delivery of the Expert Practitioners in Inspiring Skills Quality Mark promoting skill excellence through competitive activities.
- Provide support to delivery partners to raise the standard and quality of competition-based learning opportunities.
- Take a lead role in collaborating with key stakeholders, including but not limited to the Regional Skills Partnerships, CTER and industry, in order to recognise opportunities for future skills developments and raising standards across Education and Training
- Develop with the support of the project managers a sponsorship strategy for project wide activities, particularly focusing on Skills Competition Wales
- Work closely with the project's competition partners to identify opportunities for greater engagement from business partners.
- Identify new opportunities for collaboration and sponsorship and converting opportunities for cross-selling and upselling
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners
- Prepare persuasive and compelling sponsorship pitches to attract corporate support.
- Represent the project at networking events, conferences, and industry gatherings
- Work as part of the team on the project marketing strategy to implement effective stakeholder engagement
- Play a key role in promoting the Inspiring Skills projects reputation and raise its profile through multiple bilingual communication channels;
- Design, develop and implement marketing campaigns for project wide activities
- Develop compelling and engaging content in Welsh and English that can be multi-purpose across all social media channels and optimized for web and a broad range of audiences such as; young people, parents/guardians and multiple industry sectors.
- Source and contract marketing and communication agencies to assist with marketing campaign outputs
- Ensure all content is accurate and in line with agreed house style, and Welsh Language Standards
- Establish and maintain a network of marketing and communications professionals across education and training in Wales
- Assist with monitoring and generating marketing campaign reports to track performance and metrics
- Assist with the delivery budgets and reporting, specific to marketing, communication and events
- Maintain an up to date knowledge and share best practice of new and innovative digital marketing to reach all stakeholders;
- Oversee and identify opportunities for ISE Ambassadors to engage in project wide activities
Skills Knowledge and Expertise Qualifications:
- Educated to Degree level or substantial suitable experience
- GCSE English at a minimum Grade C
- GCSE Mathematics at a minimum Grade C
- Experience of project planning and implementation
- Experience of developing and implementing systems
- and processes
- Experience of contract and budget management
- Experience of working in partnership with external and internal stakeholder
- Relevant administrative experience with a good understanding of Microsoft Office
- applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of vocational education
- Experience of event management and delivery
- Experience of a variety of marketing and communication tools including the use of social media for promotional activities
- Good communicator with diplomacy and tact
