Job Description

The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint 2 playgroup assistants who are passionate about working with very young children.

The successful candidates will:
  • Attend to the child's personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene and first aid
  • Supervise and support children ensuring their safety and access to learning, including those with educational needs
  • Establish good relationships with the children, acting as a positive role model
  • Be able to demonstrate a reasonable standard of education with proficiency in literacy and numeracy to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Hold a minimum qualification of QCF Level 3 in Child Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) or equivalent qualification as included in the Social Care Wales List of Required Qualifications to work within Early Years and Childcare in Wales.
  • Have experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age in either a paid, voluntary or domestic environment and will need to be able to show an interest in children's development and in a wide range of issues concerning their education and welfare
