The Governing Body of Coedpenmaen Primary wishes to appoint an outstanding practitioner to join a dedicated Senior Leadership Team that has a focus on school improvement and set high expectations for pupils' learning. At Coedpenmaen we strive to develop a love of learning through a challenging and engaging curriculum inspired by our learners. Our vision is driven by the four purposes where pupils’ happiness and wellbeing are at the heart of our school which enables successful futures. We are seeking a TLR teacher who can demonstrate excellent classroom practice, with a thorough knowledge of progression and innovative teaching and learning developments.

Coedpenmaen Primary School is a thriving and supportive primary school located in the Pontypridd community. With a nurturing environment, it currently serves 216 students across 9 classes. Our most recent Estyn inspection noted that "Leaders have made significant progress in improving teaching across the school. The headteacher has focused on professional development for staff and has set high expectations for students' learning."

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with the effective Senior Leadership Team to set high expectations for pupil achievement and instructional quality.
  • Provide leadership and support for teachers through mentoring, coaching and professional development programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for colleges and universities regarding student placements, organising and conducting induction programs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive CPD strategy that aligns with the school’s educational goals and staff developmental needs.
  • Lead and coordinate research projects that inform and improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Oversee the systematic collection of pupil performance data across all year groups.
