The Governing Body of Coedpenmaen Primary wishes to appoint an outstanding practitioner to join a dedicated Senior Leadership Team that has a focus on school improvement and set high expectations for pupils' learning. At Coedpenmaen we strive to develop a love of learning through a challenging and engaging curriculum inspired by our learners. Our vision is driven by the four purposes where pupils’ happiness and wellbeing are at the heart of our school which enables successful futures. We are seeking a TLR teacher who can demonstrate excellent classroom practice, with a thorough knowledge of progression and a comprehensive understanding of Curriculum for Wales.

Coedpenmaen Primary School is a thriving and supportive primary school located in the Pontypridd community. With a nurturing environment, it currently serves 216 students across 9 classes. Our most recent Estyn inspection noted that "The school’s curriculum is progressive, cohesive and addresses all aspects of the Curriculum for Wales". We are looking for a practitioner with the expertise and skills to advance our curriculum development initiatives.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead on Curriculum Design throughout the school.
  • Report on curriculum outcomes and innovations to stakeholders, including parents, governors, and educational authorities.
  • Lead the school’s self-evaluation process for curriculum and innovation, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for community engagement.
  • Manage the school’s social media and other platforms to promote community involvement.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive transition plan for students moving between progression steps and from infants to juniors and primary to secondary education.
  • Develop a broad and balanced program of extra-curricular and enrichment activities that cater to the interests and needs of all students.
