Cardiff and Vale College
Cardiff and Vale College are looking for a Business Development Consultant based within our City Centre Campus but with the expectation to cover other campuses as and when needed.

The successful candidate for the post will be responsible for developing commercial activity and income generation at the college through employer engagement and networking.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and developing effective working relationships with employers and key stakeholders
  • To identify skills and training needs of employers and provide solutions
  • To act as the key point of contact and account manager for the designated client base
  • Work in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and Funded Programmes and Bids Team to pitch for business to employers and demonstrate knowledge of College's entire offering
  • To attend and actively promote College services at business networking events and relevant conferences
  • To enter, track and be familiar with all leads and sales activity via the CRM system including follow up activity for sales proposals and visits.
  • Identify skills and training needs of employers and offer solutions, to grow the College's employer related income and apprenticeship provision.


The successful applicant will have an excellent track record of generating commercial income and be educated to a high standard. Previous experience of working within a fast paced sales environment is key, as is a good understanding of effective networking and relationship building internally as well as externally.
