Job Description

Ysgol Greenhill is an 11 to 19 comprehensive school that serves the historic walled town of Tenby and surrounding areas. Based in the picturesque surroundings of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the school is a caring, inclusive and a welcoming environment where pupils and staff are proud of their strong values and ethos.

The school is looking to appoint a forward thinking and innovative Design Technology practitioner who is passionate about ensuring all pupils realise their potential to cover the maternity leave of the current post holder.

The Governing Body is seeking a forward-thinking and inspirational teacher who:

  • Is innovative and creative
  • Is passionate about ensuring all children receive the best possible provision in order to maximise their potential.
  • Has high expectations of all of our pupils
  • Is able to teach KS3 Design Technology
  • Is able to teach KS4 L1/2 Construction and Engineering

The Design and Technology department has expanded in recent years, offering an progressive curriculum for Years 7 and 8. Alongside specialised courses at KS4 and 5 Including Engineering, Level ½ in Construction, Level 1/2 in Hospitality & Catering and GCSE Textiles.

The department has three fully-equipped workshops, with a variety of machinery and tools, offering students the resources needed to engage with the curriculum. From traditional hand tools to a dedicated hot works area, the Engineering workshop supports a broad range of projects. In addition, the department features, a number of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) machines including several 3D printers and a laser cutter, enabling students to develop their skills in computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing.

Alongside these resources, we have a Construction space which is equipped for practical learning. Where students gain practical experience in essential trades such as carpentry and electrical work. They also benefit from an outdoor bricklaying area, where they can develop their bricklaying skills.
