The Governing Body of Aberdare Park Primary is seeking to appoint an exceptional practitioner to join a committed Senior Leadership Team, focused on school improvement and setting high expectations for pupil achievement.

At Aberdare Park Primary we strive to develop a love of learning through a challenging and engaging curriculum inspired by our learners. Our vision is driven by the four purposes where pupils’ happiness and wellbeing are at the heart of our school which enables successful futures. We are seeking a TLR teacher who can demonstrate excellent classroom practice, with a thorough knowledge of progression and a comprehensive understanding of Curriculum for Wales.

Aberdare Park Primary School is a thriving and supportive primary school, with a caring ethos, located in the Aberdare community. With a nurturing environment, it currently serves 247 pupils across 9 classes, plus a full time nursery.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated, and highly effective practitioner eager to transition into a leadership role and add additional capacity to our existing team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the skills of an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all Learners.
  • Encourage and inspire children to reach their full potential through high quality learning experiences.
  • Be able to cater for a wide range of pupils with a variety of needs.
  • Have the ability to develop bilingualism (Welsh as a Second Language).
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, governors, and the local community?
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills to inspire, lead, and collaborate with the school team, bringing the enthusiasm, drive, and energy needed to support the Headteacher, Deputy Head, and Governors in managing and leading the school.
  • Be creative and willing to contribute to all aspects of school life.
  • Be a member of our team which is fully supportive of and involved in the life of the school.
  • Work effectively within a strong team ethos both within and between schools, contributing ideas, energy and vision to school improvement initiatives.
  • Have aspirations for future career progression into senior leadership.
