About The Service
Cardiff Youth Service are seeking to recruit a Youth Work Co-ordinator to develop and support our Locality Youth Work model.

We are committed to developing an evidential basis for Youth Work to thrive in the communities of Cardiff. Demonstrating impact and showcasing the positive journeys of young people is essential. We have actively embraced technology and understanding the various safe spaces that young people inhabit is an essential part of our work.

Cardiff Youth Service is a forward-thinking organisation that is looking to continue to set standards in Youth Work practice and co-produce Youth Work programmes with young people. Cardiff is a Child Friendly City and young people's rights form a focus of our work with young people. We will seek to develop young people's capacity to engage in a variety of services and establish governance structures where young people become active citizens shaping the service, provision, programmes and projects that they participate in.

We are looking for strength based professionally qualified and registered Youth Workers who are keen to be at the forefront of Youth Work practice.

We support the learning and development of individuals through leadership and management development opportunities whilst actively involving staff in learning, coaching and mentoring that enables the continuous professional development of the service.

About the job
The post holder will establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with young people to support and train them to become involved in their local and wider communities making a positive contribution to change through commissioning, interviewing and inspecting Families First Provisions, the education department and partners.

Due to the nature of youth work, and supporting a young person led programme, there will be a requirement to support events/residential/visits outside of the hours set. These will be negotiated as needed.

What We Are Looking For From You
The post holder will be responsible for supporting young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate their personal, social and educational development, to enable them to develop their voice, influence and place in society and to reach their full potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic youth worker who will encourage creativity and innovation to inspire and motivate young people on a daily basis.

We are looking for a youth worker who has a positive attitude and resilience to be able to impact positively on the lives of young people.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification in youth work and have a proven track record of working with young people to secure positive outcomes.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2025.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.

This post has a requirement for registration with the Education Workforce Council.
