Applicants are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to join the team at Glan Llyn Primary School in Newport, which opened in September 2019.
Glan Llyn Primary School is an English-medium school and provides education for children aged between 3 years and 11 years. The school also has a 20-place Learning Resource Base to support pupils with additional learning needs from across Newport. The school opened in September 2019 on a growing school basis to support the growing Glan Llyn housing development and sits within the Lliswerry cluster of primary schools. We have a published admission number of 60 and a 48 place nursery and currently have 455 pupils on roll.

The position offered is on a fixed term basis to cover the maternity leave of the teacher who is currently undertaking the role of PPA/Cover Teacher from Year 3 to Year 6. We are particularly interested in candidates who, in addition to displaying strong teaching skills, have good subject knowledge in ICT and Welsh to further develop key aspects of the School’s Development Plan.
It is anticipated that the post will begin on Monday 6th January with an end date provisionally set as 11th July 2025.
The appointment process will start with a lesson observation in a Junior class (Y3-Y6), following which, only selected candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview with the Headteacher and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
