We wish to appoint an inspiring Communication Support Worker to provide communication support and assistance to learners who are Deaf, have a hearing impairment or a communication difficulty, enabling them to access both the academic and wider college curriculum.

Applicants should have previous experience supporting learners and hold a hearing impaired qualification (at least British Sign Language CACDP Level 3) plus five GCSEs including Maths and English at grade C or above.

The ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.

Requirements & Compliance

  • Safeguarding: Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (costs covered by the candidate).
  • Qualifications: Lecturers must hold or be willing to achieve a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) within a set period.
