Lecturer – Welsh Second Language (Maternity Cover) - 12443
Cardiff and Vale College
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Welsh as a Second Language Lecturer within the General Education department at Cardiff and Vale College on a fixed term contract to cover maternity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for subject planning, delivery, and assessment, ensuring a positive and value-driven experience for learners in line with the CAVC mission of transforming lives by unlocking potential and developing skills. We are looking for a passionate, committed teaching professional who can deliver teaching excellence, with a willingness to actively participate in CAVC life.
You will form part of both our Arts Learning Area, which aims to give learners the breadth and depth of Artistic enrichment and experience. Further the department is working towards being the prime location for Welsh and MFL learning in the wider Capital region. Post holder will be expected to drive and assist with initiatives to this end.
You will undertake all pedagogic work such as classroom teaching and tutorial work on A Level Welsh as a Second Language. There will be an opportunity to deliver parts of ancillary qualifications such as Study Skills, Welsh Baccalaureate or the Extended Project Qualification.
You will also possess a teacher training qualification or be willing to work towards one, and have a relevant degree.
The ability to communicate via the medium of Welsh is essential for this role.
