Ysgol Calon y Dderwen is a new English-medium Community Primary School situated in the picturesque Mid-Wales market town of Newtown on the banks of the River Severn.
The Governing Body wish to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding practitioner to join our team in Years 5 and 6 at this exciting stage of our school's journey. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to form excellent relationships with children, working in partnership with Senior Leaders and
colleagues. They will also have high standards of work ethic in terms of motivation, presentation, punctuality, professional standards and team work and have a positive sense of humour.
Our new member of teaching staff will:
• have an excellent working knowledge of the new Curriculum
• be an excellent classroom practitioner who inspires and encourages children to reach their full potential through high quality learning experiences
• have the enthusiasm energy and ability to motivate, challenge and support others
• demonstrate excellent communication skills to work effectively in partnership with staff, parents, governors and the local community
• have excellent knowledge and understanding of skills development and pedagogy from an early age
• have high expectations of achievement and a commitment to raising standards
• have the enthusiasm to develop bilingualism (Welsh as a Second Language) as well as energy towards the language and an eagerness to promote it
• demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member
• be adaptable, resourceful and innovative, able to adapt to the changing education world.
