Ysgol Golwg Pen y Fan, Mount Street Infant Campus
Teaching Assistant Level 1 - Special
30 hrs per Week / 39 weeks per annum (plus holiday entitlement)
Required as soon as possible - fixed term until end August 2026 initially
We are seeking to appoint a fixed term contract Level 1 special Teaching Assistant.
The post is for 30 hrs per week term time only: Monday - Friday.
You will need to be suitably qualified with a minimum of GCSE in English and Maths; you need to be committed to your own professional development and be willing to undertake other
appropriate training, preferably leading to NVQ 2.
Current experience of working with children with special educational needs would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will work as part of the school team, working under the overall supervision of the class teacher, with an individual pupil or groups in foundation phase. This role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to work at Mount Street Infant Campus, Ysgol Golwg Pen y Fan.
The teaching assistant will support the class teachers and support the learning and well-being of individual pupils or groups; they may provide appropriate care for those who are personally
dependent on adults for their basic needs. This may include meeting their toileting needs with associated moving and handling. The posts require a committed and flexible approach as the wellbeing of all our pupils is highly important.
