The role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated individual to teach within our History team at Gower College Swansea. This role is a bank post and involves delivery of the WJEC A level History curriculum. History is a very popular course so this is your opportunity to join a thriving department with a strong and supportive approach to teaching and learning.
- £17.53 - £34.51 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
- You will have no fixed working hours, and will work on an ad hoc basis, providing sickness cover or temporary cover
- You will be paid a month in arrears e.g. any hours that you work in January, will be paid in February, and so forth.
- Gorseinon Campus, Swansea
- Interviews will take place in January 2025
- To work with the team to deliver A level History ensuring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across both AS and A2 courses.
- To plan, prepare and teach A Level History ensuring schemes of work and assessments are appropriate to the exam board specification.
- To ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned to meet the varied needs of learners.
- To work with the Curriculum Leader and Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment and successful completion.
- To keep up to date with curriculum developments, subject knowledge and innovations in teaching and learning.
- Possess a relevant degree and have a teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards one.
- Are able to demonstrate a passion for the subject.
- A very confident communicator and committed individual who can engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills and a team player.
- The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of learners.
