About the role
The Governing Body of the Federation of Ysgol Penrhyn-coch and Ysgol Penllwyn are looking for an enthusiastic, caring individual to support our after school provision.

Purpose of the job:

Assist in organising the after-school provision at Penllwyn Community School on a day-to-day basis, providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 11 in a safe and secure environment.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Providing after school provision:
  • maintaining a safe and stimulating play environment and assisting with the development of opportunities that encourage children's social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play
  • be responsible to the club supervisor and the Headteacher
  • ensure that the provision offers a safe and exciting play environment
  • assist with the planning, preparation and provision of activities that meet the individual development needs of children
  • work face to face with the children who are registered with the club
  • to supervise tea time refreshments for the children
  • follow Safeguarding guidelines and procedures in accordance with Ysgol Penrhyn-coch and Ysgol Penllwyn Federalism policies and procedures
  • carry out any other duties that will be seen to improve the work of the After School Club
    A play leader qualification and the ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will need to complete a level 1 safeguarding qualification.
