Job description
Teacher with TLR responsibility for Science and Technology including cross-curricular skill of DCF

32.5 hours per week

The Governors of Ysgol Bryn Castell Special School wish to appoint an inspirational teacher with experience of teaching pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a special school environment, to lead, manage and develop the teaching and learning of Science and Technology across the school to ensure that all learners are supported to make progress in this Area of Learning and Experience.

The teacher will work in-conjunction with school staff to lead and manage the curriculum to meet the requirements of Curriculum for Wales, ensuring that the cross-curricular skills of DCF enables pupil development and maximises pupil progress across the curriculum.

The successful candidate will have knowledge, experience and understanding of Curriculum for Wales and of learners with Additional Learning Needs. They will be passionate about working with stakeholders to further develop teaching and learning to enable every young person to achieve their full potential, through effective person-centred planning.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
