Main purposes of job





To increase the number of schools (primary and secondary) in Wales using Jigsaw Programmes.
To lead the Jigsaw work in Wales in liaison with Jigsaw HQ
To keep abreast of education developments in Wales and advise Jigsaw HQ
To build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders

Key tasks







• Develop and deliver an action plan to:
- ensure schools across Wales are aware of the Jigsaw Programmes and how they support the implementation key aspects of Curriculm for Wales
- strategically and systematically work with each county, Healthy Schools Teams, Consortia and school groups to bring schools into the Jigsaw Community
(i.e. to buy Jigsaw membership)
- develop a programme of ongoing support for Jigsaw schools in Wales, including writing mapping documents, parent leaflets and support materials to meet schools’ needs.
- design and deliver Wales-specific Jigsaw training related to Health and Wellbeing AoLE and statutory RSE
- co-ordinate the translation of Jigsaw Programmes/support materials into Welsh
- attend relevant Education conferences to keep abreast of education and curriculum developments
- contribute to the development of Jigsaw Programmes and initiatives
- advise Jigsaw HQ on developments that would improve the programmes for use in Welsh schools
- build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders


Key results/objectives








- Ambitious and realistic targets for number of Jigsaw schools in Wales to bring on board each year
- Schools in Wales using Jigsaw report high levels of impact of the Programmes for children’s and young people’s wellbeing and learning, and satisfaction with the support they receive
- Jigsaw becomes the leading Health and Wellbeing/RSE curriculum provider in Wales withing 3 years
Key experience
Essential:
- Qualified teacher with teaching experience in Welsh school/s
- Project planning and management
- Writing teaching materials
- Leader and team player

Desirable:
- Already worked in the bigger education arena e.g. for a local authority, a local or national education-related programme e.g. Healthy Schools
- PSE/RSE/HWB subject leadership in school
- Working across schools and with external stakeholders
- Training teachers

Location Working from home with visits to Jigsaw HQ and some travel across Wales
