Our school is situated in the community of Aberaman in Aberdare and we currently have 224 pupils on roll aged 3 to 11 with a full time nursery provision. We are a caring, inclusive school with pupils who want to learn and be challenged.

As a school we are dedicated to providing our pupils with an engaging and challenging learning environment and living out our motto, Where everyday is a good day to learn something new which then fosters a positive attitude towards learning for all our pupils.

We have a hard working staff, well behaved pupils, good partnerships and a clear plan for improvement which involves all our stakeholders and an exciting future as a school.

We feel that by working together as #teamblaengwawr the school is positively embracing change to ensure that all our pupils have the best learning experience and are able to fulfil their potential.

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who is;
  • Demonstrates a passion and a skill set for modelling and leading outstanding teaching and learning to improve the outcomes of all learners across the school
  • A strategic thinker with a clear vision for school improvement who has the ability to respond positively to challenges and will work closely and effectively with the school’s governing body and senior leadership team
  • A professional with proven leadership, management and interpersonal skills with a firm but fair approach to managing people
  • A leader who motivates, inspires, and empowers others and is enthusiastic and committed to leading change with a proven record and positive approach to challenge and implementing change across a school
  • An excellent communicator who will inspire children, parents and staff alike
  • Believes in the importance of strong, positive pupil wellbeing and will promote the school values and develop our pupil’s love of learning through nurturing resilience, creativity and curiosity about the world
