Role Title: Lecturer - Essential Skills
Location: Wrexham
Contract Type: Permanent: Full time
Salary: £32,304 - £49,934 Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine
We currently have a vacancy for 2 Essential Skills lecturers to deliver our English, Maths and Digital skills provision from our Wrexham campuses. There will likely be combined delivery at both Yale and Bersham Road sites.
The successful candidate will be familiar with the Essential Skills Wales (ESW) suite of qualifications, which includes Essential communication skills, Essential application of number skills and Essential digital literacy skills. Experience in delivering GCSE maths and/or English would be preferable. Applications are also welcome from lecturers who are experienced in delivering Functional skills.
To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience and competence within English and Maths lecturing and hold the relevant teaching qualifications.
As a Lecturer at Coleg Cambria, you will be required to provide educational guidance and support for our students, as well as ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification
- Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification
- Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment
- Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching
- Recognises and makes students aware of their strengths and development needs
- Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
