School Based Youth Worker - Pembrokeshire Learning Centre

Are you passionate about supporting young people in overcoming challenges and building resilience? Pembrokeshire Learning Centre is seeking a dedicated and proactive School-Based Youth Worker to join our team. This full-time position is a fantastic opportunity to work with students aged 5-16,helping them navigate both their academic and personal development.
As a School-Based Youth Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students with emotional, social, and behavioural needs, guiding them to develop the skills necessary for success in school and beyond. You will work closely with our teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure students receive the holistic support they need to thrive.
Grade 7 - £31,067 for 32.5 hours per week term time only for 45.6 weeks per annum equating to £23,865.73 pro rata rising to 46.6 weeks, £24,389.10 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and group support to students, helping them develop emotional and social skills.
• Support students in managing challenging behaviours and building positive relationships.
• Assist in the creation of personalised support plans to meet the individual needs of students.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor and track students' progress.
• Lead extracurricular activities, clubs, and mentoring sessions to engage students in positive experiences.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture where students feel safe and valued.
• Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide wraparound support for students.
Ideal Candidates Will:
• Have experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting.
• Be compassionate, patient, and committed to helping students overcome challenges.
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
• Have a good understanding of the needs of students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
• Be proactive, resourceful, and able to take initiative when working with students.
• Hold a relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, or similar (or be working towards one).
