Gowerton School is a thriving 11-18 secondary school located on the edge of the Gower in the very heart of the local community. It is committed to providing a high-quality education and fostering the personal and academic growth of every pupil. The wellbeing of the school community is at the centre of Gowerton's ethos and is considered just as important as the school's academic achievements.

The governing body of Gowerton School wish to expand the current Senior Leadership Team and are looking to appoint a Leader of Learning for pupil progress from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced school leader to play an integral role in the future success of the school.

As Leader of Learning for Pupil Progress, you will work alongside other members of the Senior Leadership Team to build on the school's strengths to ensure the best possible outcomes for its pupils. You will play a key role in the continued development of the school, using tracking to inform planning and pupil progress. You will support the school's values, ensuring a positive and inclusive culture and help to shape the future of the school.

Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding professional who:
  • Has had a successful experience in a middle or senior leadership role within the secondary education sector;
  • Has the vision, knowledge, experience and leadership skills to build on the existing strengths of this popular secondary school;
  • Has the personality to inspire and motivate pupils and staff;
  • Will be approachable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

The closing date for applications is 12 midnight, Monday 5 May 2025.

It is proposed that interviews will take place on Wednesday 14 May 2025.

The successful candidate will be required to commence on 1 September 2025.
