DEPUTY HEADTEACHER

Salary: L4 - L8 - £54,541 - £60,203 per annum

Hours: Full time, Permanent

The Governors of Ysgol Craig y Don are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, Deputy Headteacher. The successful applicant will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Working closely with the Headteacher and other leaders the successful candidate will lead, manage, monitor and evaluate the school's performance, devising and leading effective programmes for further school improvement where necessary. We are looking for someone who has exceptional teaching ability and can demonstrate high levels of commitment to pupil achievement and the development of the whole child. We need a strong team player, with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills, who is able to support, lead and inspire colleagues and children alike.

We wish to appoint someone who:
  • is an excellent class teacher who can model good practice;
  • has a proven track record of promoting and delivering high standards of achievement;
  • has experience of working as part of a successful team;
  • is energetic, enthusiastic and enjoys new challenges and leading change;
  • has the ability to respond positively to challenges and share the school's positive vision;
  • has the ability to carry out tasks and responsibilities allocated by the headteacher;
  • has experience of developing the Curriculum for Wales;
  • has fluent verbal and written skills in Welsh and English, or with a commitment to achieving this.
