The Governing Body at Abermule C.P School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding Acting Deputy Head practitioner to join our team on a Fixed Term contract.
Abermule C.P School is a small, English stream village school, centred around a thriving, nurturing environment, with 79 pupils on roll. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and vibrant learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive through a broad and balanced range of learning experiences. We are excited to announce an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Acting Deputy Head Teacher to join our growing school.
We are seeking an ideal candidate who is a highly motivated and enthusiastic teaching practitioner. The successful candidate will have the ability to form positive relationships with our pupils, staff, and families, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment. They will demonstrate a high standard of work ethic, including exceptional punctuality, teamwork and collaborative skills which is essential within our small teaching team. The successful candidate will need to be dedicated to inspiring young minds and passionate about fostering a love for learning, through the Curriculum for Wales, with a commitment to helping our learners achieve their greatest potential.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate and promote the values and disposition of the Professional Standards for teaching and leadership in Wales.
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of learning and behaviour.
- Be an innovative and inspiring leader, engaging with curriculum reform and national priorities to meet the needs of all our stakeholders.
- Have a proven track record of leading initiatives to raise attainment.
- Actively promote the welfare, wellbeing and safeguarding of all our learners.
- Demonstrate their knowledge and expertise to support the role of the ALNCO and learners within our setting.
- Show commitment in working collaboratively with a dedicated team of staff, governors, parents and the wider community.
- Plan, deliver and mark work of pupils in accordance with individual needs.
- Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils, to the pupils themselves, colleagues as appropriate and parents, including undertaking teacher assessments and observations.
- Have excellent knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum for Wales to create an environment which secures and promotes effective learning across the whole curriculum.
- Be enthusiastic, fostering the energy and ability to motivate, challenge and support our pupils.
- Promote Welsh as a second language throughout our school environment.
- Undertake any duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post and participate in the regular review of the content of the job description.
- Address health and safety policies and arrangements in a pro-active manner to ensure that a high standard of safe working practices are maintained.
- Actively support and implement the principles and practice of equality of opportunity as laid down in the school's Equal Opportunities Policy.
The successful application will be subject to a Powys County Council enhanced disclosure from the DBS and will need two references before they can take up the post.
