About The Service
The T.E.A.M.@Severn work with learners who are unable to access school due to health and exceptional circumstances. The team work across the city in community settings and council buildings. The team works in close partnership with learners, families, schools, EOTAS providers, other professionals within the LA, the Health Service, and other statutory and voluntary agencies in Cardiff. The purpose of the service is to provide a tailored engaging education for our children and young people short term, as they transition into full time education, training, or employment. Teachers and Skills and Support officers work in collaboration to provide the best possible outcomes for our children and young people.

About the job
The Inclusion Teacher will join a dynamic and innovative team committed to delivering high-quality, bespoke educational experiences. This role focuses on supporting staff in the planning and delivery of tailored, engaging lessons in accordance with the EOTAS (Education Other Than at School) curriculum, ensuring that all learners are appropriately challenged and supported to make meaningful progress.

As a key member of the leadership team, the Inclusion Teacher, together with teachers, will be responsible for facilitating Person Centred Meetings, identifying possible Additional Learning Needs (ALN), and creating and reviewing IDPs where necessary. They will lead a team of teachers working with children aged 5 to 16, providing both individual and group-based support.

Given the evolving needs of learners and the changing demands of stakeholder requirements the successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of adaptability, the ability to manage change effectively, and the capacity to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of practice.

What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner who consistently motivates students to reach their full potential through high-quality, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences.

The role requires someone who can also inspire, mentor, and support colleagues to develop and deliver excellent teaching and learning practices. A strong working knowledge of the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act (ALNET) and its implications for classroom practice is essential. The candidate must be trauma-informed and able to guide staff in supporting pupils to make rapid progress, particularly following periods of disrupted learning.

The ideal applicant will be confident in working with children and young people aged 5 to 19 and possess a broad and adaptable skill set to meet a diverse range of educational needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital, along with the ability to build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and other stakeholders.

A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities is essential.

The ability to travel independently across Cardiff throughout the working day is a requirement for this role. While not essential, the ability to drive a minibus would be an advantage.

Additional information
Grade: MPS - UPS (£32,433 - £49,944) + ALN (£2,728 - £5,379) per annum
