Job description

Welsh Language Skills are essential for this position

1. To take responsibility for the education, safeguarding and wellbeing of class / classes of children in accordance with the current School Teacher's Pay and Conditions document, having due regard for the requirements of appropriate curriculum, LEA and school policies.
2. To plan, deliver and mark work of pupils in accordance with individual needs and to assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils to the pupils themselves, colleagues as appropriate and parents, including undertaking end of key stage teacher assessments.
3. To direct and supervise the work of support staff, students and volunteers in the classroom, ensuring effective support and challenge to pupils.
4. To liaise with colleagues, parents and other agencies as appropriate.
5. To review as necessary personal teaching methods and organisation and
participate in INSET and other development appropriate to both school and
individual needs.
6. Take responsibility for and co-lead the whole school review of agreed Curriculum areas in line with the school's monitoring and subject review schedule.

7. To provide inspiration and motivation to the school community to support its aims, sharing in the development of the whole school curriculum and extra-curricular activities.

8. To promote high standards of achievement and behaviour with all pupils through high expectations and performing as an excellent role model.
9. To create an environment which secures and promotes effective learning across the curriculum and the continuum.
10. Undertake any duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post and participate in the regular review of the content of the job description.
