(working hours are on an ad-hoc basis)
Job purpose: To ensure the health, quality and survival of all plants within the Horticulture working areas by providing the ideal growing conditions.
Your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Check the temperature in all glasshouses.
- Watering as required to all internal and external areas of the horticulture unit as appropriate for the weather.
- Apply and/or remove frost protection as required.
- Open and close vents as required.
- Check germinating seeds and move/treat as required.
- Carry out any essential grounds maintenance and planting.
You will possess or be working towards a Level 3 qualification in horticulture or be a keen enthusiast with substantial experience. You will also have good knowledge of general amenity and production horticulture with practical experience.
Please note, this an hourly paid contract which means that specific days and hours cannot be guaranteed - they are offered on a casual, ad hoc basis to fit the needs of the service and so may vary.
