The Governors are seeking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to cover a shortfall in support staff within our STF provision. The post will commence T.B.C and will be temporary until Summer term 2026- -external funding dependant - should the funding cease the post will be reviewed in the first instance or a whole staffing review, whichever comes first

The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction and guidance of the STF coordinator to undertake learning support programs enabling a pupil on a 1 to 1 basis to overcome their barriers to learning.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a good working knowledge of ALN. They must be able to relate well to young people, and have the ability to develop constructive working relationships with other staff, parents and outside agencies. The role will require a person with excellent behaviour management and communication skills, alongside being able to demonstrate a flexible approach and an encouraging, nurturing nature. This post has a First Aid responsibility. Training will be provided.

Bishop Gore School is a popular, very successful 11-18 comprehensive school. It was again judged as 'Excellent' in the recent ESTYN inspection.
