Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Teaching Assistant Grade 3, SCP 3-5 £15,429 - £16,427 per annum. Lunchtime Supervisor Grade 1 SCP 2 £1598 per annum.

Temporary Level 2 Teaching Assistant 27.5 hours per week + Lunchtime Supervisor 2.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term time.


To commence September 2025 (or as soon as possible after once checks are complete). Temporary until July/August 2026.

The Governing Body, staff and pupils of Tairgwaith Primary School wish to appoint an excellent and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual to work with pupils throughout the 3-11 age range. This position may include some 1:1 support responsibility.

The Governors will be seeking the following skills/personal qualities:

• Enthusiasm and self motivation
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
• Good people skills with adults and children.
• The ability to work as part of a team and receive instruction under the direct supervision of the class teacher.
• Able to support strategies aimed to maximise pupil progress and well-being.
• Caring, flexible and approachable to pupils, staff and parents.
