Travel Assessor and Monitoring Officer

Conwy County Borough Council

Salary: £25,992 - £27,269 per annum (G04)

Work base: Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay

As one of the largest employers in the area, we want you to join our close working friendly team within Education Services.

As a Travel Support and Monitoring officer you will play a key role in our home to school transport team ensuring that pupils with additional learning or other needs can safely travel in the most suitable form of home to school transport. Working with all stakeholders, including pupils, parents, schools, authority officers and external agencies, you will assess the ability of pupils and help them to develop the skills required to travel safely in vehicles. For some pupils you may be able to help them to travel to school independently.

You will have experience of, and enjoying working with, children / young people with a range of additional learning needs, including those with more complex needs, and positively supporting more challenging presenting behaviours. You will be confident to work in different environments and you will be able to work effectively with people at all levels including senior officers, external agencies, head teachers, children/young people and their families.

You will also support the team with general transport eligibility requests and incident investigations for which full training and mentoring will be provided.

This is a full time role for an initial fixed term of 2 years.

This post will benefit from working within a hybrid model, after completing initial training and induction, which means a balance of working from home, and at our head office in Colwyn Bay. You will benefit from a substantial rewards package, which includes a local government pension scheme, occupational sick pay and staff benefits including salary sacrifice cars, cycle to work scheme, cashback healthcare, discounts plus much more.

This role offers flexible working options for a work life balance. This can include adjusting your working day and hybrid working, ie a balance of office and home working.
