Blaengwawr Primary School is situated in the community of Aberaman in Aberdare. We currently have 224 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 11. The school has strong links with the community and a supportive, proactive governing body.

The Governing Body of this caring, inclusive school is seeking to appoint a Curriculum TLR to work with our SLT and staff team. We are looking for a committed potential leader who is well-organised, caring and will go the extra mile to support pupils, parents and staff.

The successful candidate will:-
• Lead implementation of Curriculum for Wales (CfW) across the school – planning strategically with SLT and governors
• Motivate and support all AOLE leads and teams and create a shared understanding of the expectations of curriculum provision and assessment for CfW
• Support AOLE teams to develop annual action plans, be part of self-evaluation processes across the school
• Perform a key role on the SLT, reporting to them and the governors on CfW progress and standards across the school
• Actively engage with other schools, cluster and professional learning opportunities to bring best practice in CfW to our staff
• Role model effective cross curricular planning and teaching in their own classroom/progression step
• Work with SLT to deliver a quality professional learning programme for all school staff relating to CfW
• Meet deadlines and have effective time management
• Demonstrate excellent classroom practice and a commitment to high standards and expectations
• Create an engaging learning environment
• Be able to work as part of a successful team and manage other adults within the classroom
• Be committed to raising standards and have high expectations of themselves and of children
• Be an excellent communicator
