Casual Learning Support Assistant

Salary Scale 1: £12.66 per hour
Casual Hours - please note this may include evening work

This is an hourly paid contract which means that specific days and hours cannot be guaranteed - they are offered on a casual, ad hoc basis to fit the needs of the service and so may vary.

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join our enthusiastic ALN team based on our Bridgend and Pencoed campuses on a casual basis.

You will provide personalised learning support and personal care (depending on individual needs) to students with ALN to remove learning barriers across all Bridgend College campuses. You will support students in developing skills, confidence and understanding in order to progress in learning, whilst taking steps towards greater independence.

This may include providing practical support, personal care, note-taking, reading, prompting/scribing and/or note taking support. With a minimum grade C Maths and English or Welsh and a relevant Level 2 qualification, you will have experience working with people with additional learning needs/physical disabilities who may require support and assistance to achieve their full potential.

You will have good IT, communication and note-taking skills and be prepared to work flexibly.

Registration as an FE Learning Support worker with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) is a requirement for these roles and needs to be in place before the successful candidates can start.

For further information, please view the job information pack .

Bridgend College recognises its responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students. We apply a rigorous process of checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children and vulnerable adults. We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader and we guarantee to interview anyone with a disability if their application meets the essential criteria for the post, and consider them on their abilities. We can also offer reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the UK.

The College does not participate in the UK Visa Sponsorship Scheme therefore, candidates will have to provide evidence of their Right to Work in the UK if offered a role with us.

Please note there may be a requirement for a second stage interview or assessment.
