Pembrokeshire College is looking for a flexible, motivated and inspiring individual to join the Life Skills Academy teaching team. The academy is a growing curriculum area that offers a range of programmes to suit learners with additional learning needs. MG1-UP1 (£28.66 - £41.20 per hour) with teaching qualification
Opportunity to progress onto a further scale UP2-UP3 (£42.73 - £44.32 per hour)
Hours of work: Parttime hours covering up to 22.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Hourly paid, fixed term to 30 th June 2026
Qualifications:
- Qualified at Degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
- If you do not hold a recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE), you will be required to
undertake and achieve a PGCE within a specified timescale. The PGCE will be fully funded by
Pembrokeshire College and you will be given the appropriate time to attend the in-house course.
It is essential to have;
- Experience of teaching and supporting learners with additional learning needs to develop their independent living, employability, health and wellbeing and community inclusion skills.
- Ability to provide innovative teaching and learning strategies appropriate for Life Skills Academy learners.
It is highly desirable to have;
- Experience of person-centred delivery in line with Estyn's Four Pillars, with a focus on Employability
- Experience in engaging vulnerable learners with a focus on work readiness skills
- Implementing learner tracking and monitoring systems
• A good understanding of internal and external quality assurance processes
