Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor Level 3 - Portfield School - 32.5 hours per weekGrade 6 - £28,142.00 for 32.50 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £21,713.56 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £22,187.66 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
This is a permanent position required for 32.5 hours per week, term time only.
To work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom.
This could include assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and may require detailed specialist knowledge in particular areas involving written planning/ organisation/ management and preparation of resources to implement specific programmes.
A primary focus of this post will be to supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, to maintain good order and to keep pupils on task.
Cover Supervisors will need to respond to questions and generally assist pupils to undertake set activities.
Learning Support Assistant - Portfield School
Grade 3 - £24,796 for 2 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £1,177.35 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £1,203.05 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
Open-ended position required for 2 hours per week, term time only.
You will work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom or any other area of the Learning Centre. You will support access to learning for pupils identified as having behavioural and emotional issues and to provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
A relevant recognised qualification such as the NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants, Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education (previously known as the NNEB Diploma In Nursery Nursing), the NVQ Level 3 Childcare in Education, the City and Guilds Advanced Certificate in Learning Support. (A relevant professional qualification e.g. Teaching, Social Work or Nursing would be treated as equivalent for these purposes or degree.
