Abersychan School is an 11 - 16 co-educational comprehensive school which meets the needs of children of all abilities. We are a school that is committed to ensuring that all our young people are happy, successful and ready for their lives beyond school. Our expectations and standards are high. We have a highly committed and caring staff who are dedicated to ensuring each child achieves their personal best. The school currently has 740 students, 46 teachers and 56 members of support staff. The school serves an area of significant socio-economic deprivation with 30% of students entitled to FSM and 51% of students living in the 20% most deprived areas of Wales.
The aims of the school are delivered through a strong pastoral system, a commitment to providing high quality learning experiences and an extensive range of sporting, cultural, musical and extracurricular activities. The students are happy, hard-working and positive about the school. They genuinely are an asset to our community and are incredibly friendly. They want to receive a high-quality education and to become successful students.
