Required to start as soon as possible.
We are looking for a cover supervisor who will be based on our secondary campus and who will supervise whole classes and/or small groups during the short-term absence of the timetabled class teacher, whether for planned or un-planned absence. The cover supervisor will ensure students carry out the curriculum tasks set by the absent teacher, assisting them to understand the nature of the work set, managing student behaviour and minimising the impact of the teacher’s absence on their learning. The ideal candidate will have experience of effective classroom management techniques and confidence in supporting across a range
of subject areas. They will be supported by a strong middle and senior leadership team in order to build positive and constructive relationships with our learners and their families.
ALC is based in the town of Abertillery and is comprised of a secondary campus and 3 primary campuses: Six Bells; Roseheyworth Road; and Tillery Street. We are an exciting and unique organisation and, as a multi-campus, all-through school, all staff are afforded a wide range of opportunities for carefully co-ordinated cross-phase working that supports both learner and staff development.
