The Governing Body of St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Primary School, Newport are seeking an experienced, passionate and innovative teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team with a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) for Curriculum Design and Professional Learning.

This is a permanent full-time post to start in January 2026 or as soon after.
St. Joseph’s is a thriving, friendly school dedicated to the success of its children. We provide full-time education, currently for 210 pupils between the ages of 4 and 11 years. We are a Roman Catholic, Voluntary Aided school in the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Cardiff and Menevia.
Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Role: Curriculum Design & Professional Learning
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to lead on the development of a rich, inclusive, and ambitious curriculum that reflects our Catholic values and meets the needs of all learners. You will also champion professional development across the school, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic design and implementation of the whole-school curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Ensure curriculum coherence, progression, and impact across all key stages.
- Drive high-quality professional learning, mentoring, and coaching for staff.
- Collaborate with subject leaders to embed best practice and innovation and training
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to inform school improvement.
