An exciting vacancy is available as a Hospitality Technician in the Hospitality department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus, Cardiff.Responsibilities include:
- To assist lecturing staff in the preparation of equipment and products for theoretical and practical lessons.
- To maintain hygienic and safe standards of the practical work areas. To ensure that the practical areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
- To co-operate closely with the members of the teaching staff at all times in order to provide the necessary 'back-up' service and effective general organisation of students' practical tasks.
- To maintain strict control and security over all restaurant's resources including food and alcoholic beverages, cleaning materials, equipment and departmental facilities.
- To ensure food, beverages and other resources are stored correctly e.g. freezer, refrigerator, dry goods and cleaning materials.
- To maintain minimum and maximum stock levels of all consumable food and beverage stocks and, to re-order accordingly to ensure continuity of supply to practical classes.
- To prepare and issue all foodstuffs for all practical classes, as specified by the lecturer, and any supplementary orders that may occur on a daily basis.
- To receive all unused foodstuffs at the completion of all practical classes, to return to stock where appropriate, or arrange suitable disposal sustainably. Correct orders for next day delivery.
- Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
