£41,771 - £46,142

These are two full time open-ended positions, each required for 37 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development and delivery of the Council's schools' capital programme, the management of the school estate, and progressing the school organisation programme. In relation to the capital programme, you will act as the hub between the Education Directorate (the client) and other teams, notably Construction and other Technical Services. You will be the first point of contact with Welsh Government, drafting key documents to acquire significant capital funding, and will provide oversight of funded projects from initiation to completion, including ensuring that project briefs and completed projects comply with all relevant educational legislation/requirements and grant funding conditions.

With respect to the school organisation programme, you will draft statutory consultation documents, consultation reports and related paperwork, adhering to statutory guidance on the process for school organisation, to ensure the school estate is the optimal size.

The ideal candidate will have both a thorough understanding and experience of working in the education sector, together with strong project management skills and experience relating to large capital schemes and school estate matters. An understanding of the legal framework underpinning school organisation is desirable.

You will have excellent communication skills and will be required to maintain professional relationships with a wide variety of people, including elected members, chief officers, headteachers, various educational and technical professionals, and the public.
