About Us
Y Canol is a resourced provision for 3 - 11 year olds who have severe learning difficulties or profound and multiple learning difficulties, we are located in the heart of Ysgol Heulfan in Gwersyllt.

We believe that children who have complex learning difficulties require specialist teaching approaches, resources and facilities to enable them to achieve their maximum learning potential. At Ysgol Heulfan, we are totally committed to the principles of inclusive education and in Y Canol we are proud to be able to offer the 'best of both worlds'. Each child in Y Canol receives a curriculum that is individually tailored to their priority learning needs.

Additionally, children in Y Canol spend some time during their week with their friends in the mainstream part of the school. This inclusive practice fosters real friendships and promotes a lifelong understanding among the mainstream children regarding the diverse needs of pupils who have complex learning needs.

Our facilities include a soft play room, sensory stimulation room and adapted kitchen. Our school motto is 'Working Together to Be the Best We Can Be'.
