Teaching Assistant Level 2

Salary: £10,386 - £10,550

About the Role
Parttime - 18 Hours per week.

We are looking for a suitably experienced and qualified level 2 teaching assistant who can demonstrate:
a comprehensive understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and pedagogy

an understanding of the importance of educational play and how it supports development, independence and learning in young children
a love of the outdoors and an appreciation of the importance and value of it in the development and learning of young children

the ability to speak incidental Welsh and promote its use in the classroom
initiative to work as part of a team

the ability and patience to support our learners who have additional needs
a willingness to assist with the medical needs of the children in our care

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To work with individual pupils and groups of children under direction of the teacher.
Encourage pupils to act independently as appropriate
Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning
Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
Promote the diversity and inclusion of all pupils
Prepare classroom as directed for lessons and clear afterwards and assist with the display of pupils work
Be aware of pupil problems/progress/achievements and report to the teacher as agreed
Undertake pupil record keeping as requested
Provide clerical/admin. support e.g. photocopying, typing, filing etc.
